Wisconsin Locals Prepare for Bargaining with Trane

Negotiating Committee for Locals 21 and 1115, along with the Directing Business Representative from District 66, participated in the Negotiation Preparation for Bargaining Committees program at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, MD. The Locals represent employees at Trane in La Crosse, WI which make industrial sized chillers weighing anywhere from 25 to 75 tons.

The current contract with Trane expires August 11, 2018. Recognizing that this promises to be a difficult round of negotiations, the Committee strategized to change bargaining history, map a new direction for relations with the company, put better language in the contract and to build solidarity in the bargaining unit.

“The week at the Winpisinger Center was filled with plenty of good information for the committee,” said District 66 Directing Business Representative Neil Kamrowski. “It gave us the opportunity to assemble and develop a detailed plan to get us the best contract possible. The Committee worked hard and put in some long hours. They leave the Winpisinger Center better prepared to advance the needs of the members. The entire staff at the center are all first class, and I would recommend this class to any local.”
