Boeing has engaged in an all-out campaign of intimidation against Flight Line workers at Boeing South Carolina, most notably with six IAM members who have been unjustly terminated.

These unjust terminations have rallied IAM members, elected officials and others throughout the nation to show solidarity for these six members. IAM District 751 started a GoFundMe page for the six IAM members, raising more than $30,000 in five days to help them get through this difficult period.
“My family has been amazed by what all of you have done for us,” wrote Rich Mester, one of the six members who was unjustly terminated just before the holiday. “All of you should know the love and support has made an impact on me and my family.”
U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT) wrote a letter to Boeing urging the company to stop any efforts to intimidate, harass, or terminate their employees as an effort to undermine their federally protected right to join a union.
It is alarming that instead of negotiating with the IAMAW, Boeing has instead pursued a campaign of intimidation against the flight readiness technicians,” wrote the senators.

“The Machinists Union has always been a critical part of Boeing’s accomplishments,” said Machinists Union International President Bob Martinez. “We are proud that 35,000 IAM members make Boeing one of the most successful and largest aerospace companies in the world.
“I want to thank Sens. Brown and Sanders for standing up for Machinists Union members at Boeing South Carolina,” continued Martinez. “The facts will show that these dedicated and experienced Flight Line workers were unjustly terminated. Boeing South Carolina Machinists members will not be intimidated. The Machinists Union will continue its fight for the rights of Boeing workers in South Carolina.”
Flight Line Technicians in South Carolina voted on May 31, 2018 to join the IAM. Since then, Boeing has refused to negotiate with 178 workers at its North Charleston, S.C. manufacturing facility.
