Now is the Time to Enroll in Spanish Leadership

The next four years promises to be a challenging time for the labor movement and workers in general. Now is the time to stand strong and send the message of diversity and inclusion to our nation’s leaders, communities, and within our own union, and the key to that message is education.

The time to enroll for the Spanish Leadership I class is upon us. As described in the official Call Letter to all Local and District lodges dated September 21st, 2016, all lodges are advised to enroll their members as soon as possible to ensure that member enrollments are approved and forms received prior to the enrollment deadline.

The first class, Spanish Leadership I, will take place March 26th-31st at the Winpisinger Center. This program trains the next generation of leaders and organizers within our union who continue the struggle for workers’ rights and fan the flames of the labor movement.

There are several other Spanish programs that target the various levels of union leadership education as well as Staff classes including Collective Bargaining and Organizing I, both offered in Spanish. The Spanish classes for 2017 are as follows:

March 26-31 SPANISH LEADERSHIP I

April 02-07 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING in SPANISH

April 30 to May 5 ORGANIZING I PROGRAM in SPANISH

May 14-19 SPANISH LEADERSHIP II

Aug 20-25 SPANISH TRAIN-THE-TRAINER

Sep 10-15 SPANISH LEADERSHIP II
