Life Insurance Premium Help for Members Affected by Shutdown
IAM members affected by the government shutdown now have some relief available in the form of life insurance premium assistance from their union insurance providers.
Furloughed IAM members participating in IAM Custom Choice Benefit programs will be afforded the opportunity to repay their Employee Benefits Systems’ Custom Choice Benefit premiums over a period of time. EBS is offering members this option in order to help alleviate some of the stress that during this difficult and uncertain time. Affected members can contact EBS at 713-812-0090 to discuss payment options.
Additionally, American Income Life and National Income Life have extended their lay-off waiver of premium feature to all policyholders who are not receiving a paycheck due to the shutdown.
American Income Life policyholders can download and submit their lay-off waiver form or call 1-800-433-3405.
National Income Life policyholders can download and submit their lay-off waiver form or call 1-800-516-4466.
