IAM members across the U.S. and Canada were out in force on Labor Day showing the world that organized labor is making a resurgence. Check out some of these Labor Day social media posts, but first a brief message from the International President:
“Throughout our history, we have always faced challenges. Today is no different. For 130 years, our union has never backed down.
“Thanks to you, the Machinists Union is becoming bolder and stronger by the day. We are standing up to companies that attack our members. We are organizing in places like South Carolina, where they said we could not bring people together. We are turning back anti-worker policies in Missouri and across the country. Together, we will continue our march toward a better life for every working family.”
SHOUTOUT TO MY DAD who’s the parade marshal for the Labor Day festivities in my hometown.
He’s the IAMAW Grand Lodge representative for the Midwest territory; a second generation, 31-plus year member working as a machinist/millwright.

As a boy I loved wearing my dads IAMAW shirt under my shoulder pads at football. Made me feel strong and proud.
Now 20 years later I put on My IUOE shirt and still feel that sense of pride and strength#UnionStrong #UnionPride
