IAM Local Lodge 1751 Ranks Grow with Swissport Workers

Once again, Swissport workers at Montréal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport have turned to the IAM for union representation.

“We organized 250 Swissport ground handlers, ground mechanics, storekeepers, operations officers, and communications coordinator in March,” explained IAM Grand Lodge Representative Michel Richer. This group wanted the same benefits as their co-workers, that being better working conditions, respect in the workplace and someone who had their back when needed. The IAM was their union of choice and our reputation for providing good service and first class representation to our members, paved the way in certifying this group.”

The newest members of IAM Local Lodge 1751 consist of 160 cabin groomers, responsible for cleaning the interior of aircraft between flights.

The IAM is the largest union in Canada’s air transport sector.
