I.P. Martinez Announces Rogers as Women’s and Human Rights Department Director

IAM International President Bob Martinez has appointed Grand Lodge Education Representative Rhonda Rogers to Director of the Women’s and Human Rights Department. The appointment is effective August 1.

“I am very pleased to welcome Rhonda to this position,” said Martinez. “The IAM is fortunate to have a person with the experience, qualifications, and passion Rhonda has amongst our ranks. I have the upmost confidence she will take the Women’s and Human Rights Department to new heights, helping fellow Machinists lead the way in the fight for equality and dignity.”

Rogers has been an Education Representative at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center since 2011 and hails out of Local 1943 in Middletown, OH where she worked at AK Steel since 2001. At her local, Rogers held the positions of Committeeman and was the Chair of the Human Rights Committee and Community Services Committee.

Rogers holds a bachelor’s degree in labor studies from the National Labor College and is currently working on a master’s degree in work and labor policy with an advanced certificate in women’s and gender studies at Empire State College.
