Furman Joins IAM Communications Staff

International President Bob Martinez has announced the appointment of Michelle Furman as a Communications Representative at Headquarters, effective March 1, 2018. Furman takes over for former graphic designer Mike Mancini, who retired after five years on staff and 19 years as an IAM member.

Furman joins the IAM with 18 years of prior experience working as a designer, production manager and communications director. Working for the American Federation of Teachers and the Smithsonian’s Woodrow Wilson Center, Furman produced books, magazines, advertisements, journals and social media campaigns. She most recently served as communications director for the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

Furman holds bachelor’s degrees in graphic design and political science from West Virginia University and a master’s degree in publishing from George Washington University.
