The IAM Battle of the Boards Cornhole Tournament raised over $10,000 for Guide Dogs of America, a non-profit organization founded by an IAM member that provides guide dogs to visually-impaired men and women free of charge.
Over 50 people came to Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, MD to take part in the popular lawn game. The fundraiser also featured prizes, raffles and a kid’s zone.
“Thanks to everyone who sponsored, volunteered or participated in the first-ever IAM Battle of the Boards Cornhole Tournament,” said IAM General Vice President Dora Cervantes. “Your commitment to Guide Dogs continues to make a positive impact on the lives of so many people our charity touches.”
Guide Dogs of America does not receive any funding from the government and relies solely upon donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, chapters, clubs and other non-profit organizations. It costs $40,000 to fully train one guide dog.
