History of the International Association of Machinists For more information, please visit the IAM Collection at Georgia State University Library.  1888: 19 machinists meeting in a locomotive pit in Atlanta, GA, vote to form a trade union. Machinists earn 20 to 25 cents an hour for a 10-hour day.

Origins of Fort Rucker and Army Aviation Although both Fort Rucker and Army Aviation trace their origins back to earlier eras, they came into being during the early months of World War II. The United States entered the war on December 8, 1941, following the surprise Japanese attack on Hawaii, the Philippines, Guam, and Midway.


Past and Current Local Lodge 2003 Presidents Local Lodge 2003 was chartered in 1955, shortly after the Army moved the primary rotary wing training to Camp Rucker. Below is the list of Presidents that have seen the Local Lodge grow into what it is today.
