IAM Local Lodge 2003 Veteran's Committee Chairperson John Parker and Recording Secretary Michelle Hunt recently visited the Veterans that were relocated to the Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center.  On April 16, 2025, the CSM Bennie G. Adkins Veteran's Home located in Enterprise, Alabama caught fire and over 80 people were evacuated. Prior to the fire, Local 2003 membership voted to make a monetary donation collect items on a list of needs from the home. 

During the visit, John and Michelle expressed their appreciation on behalf of Local 2003 for the Veterans' service to our country and listened to their stories of their time spent in the military. This was a very humbling experience, and the veterans were in good spirits considering the relocation. There is no current date set for the home to be ready for the veterans to move back in, but they are all looking forward to that day. 

The staff were thankful for the donations and that the biggest need for the veterans at this time was fruit juices and lemonade.  If you would like to donate, Local 2003 will be accepting donations at the union hall and will deliver them in the first week of May.
