IAM Southern Territory Nabs Pegasus Corp. Organizing Win

In another organizing win, the IAM Southern Territory picked up a unanimous “yes” vote by 14 workers at Pegasus Corp. at the Red River Army Depot near Texarkana, TX.  It is the first of many expected votes at the facility, where the IAM has active organizing campaigns with several service contract employers at the base covering nearly 1,000 workers.

“The company took away our shift differentials, they took away our breaks, and hired temp employees to work on the weekends so we no longer get overtime,” said Pegasus employee William McClellan.

“It’s important for workers to protect their jobs,” said IAM Southern Territory General Vice President Mark Blondin. “I believe the time has come when workers are deciding that unionizing is the best way to make sure they can have their shot at the American Dream. I’m sure this is the first of several wins at the Red River Army Depot.”
